The Humane Society of Delaware County will be raising a glass of wine to the dogs and cats at the Delaware shelter.
HSDC will hold its third wine and food pairing fundraiser, hosted by Good Vibes Winery in Westerville.
Twenty-four guests will drink wines provided by Good Vibes Winery and eat a three-course meal prepared by Westerville wine event company It Starts With a Grape, which uses locally sourced fresh ingredients. Tickets are $50 a person, with proceeds going to support HSDC.
Heather Denaro, owner of It Starts With a Grape and personal chef, hosted two wine and food pairing events last year for HSDC. She said she plans to continue hosting them quarterly.
“I have a passion for those guys,” she said. “They help a lot of animals and what they do is incredible.”
Denaro, a former HSDC volunteer, said her business keeps her busy, but she wants to continue giving back - especially as the adopted owner of two HSDC animals, her dog Frank and her cat Bonzai.
“(Denaro) does such an amazing job preparing the food onsite and presenting the food with the perfect wine,” said HSDC director Heidi Myers. “This is quickly becoming one of our more popular fundraisers and our guests always have a fantastic time.”
The Wine and Cheese Pairing is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. at Good Vibes Winery, 2 S. State St., Westerville. RSVP for the event is required. Tickets are available at HSDC, 4920 St. Rt. 37 East or online at www.hsdcohio.org. For more information, call (740) 369-7387.
