Thomas and Eudora Mitchell celebrate 65 years of marriage

Thomas and Eudora Mitchell, lifelong residents of Delaware, will be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary on June 29, 2014.

The couple was married at Second Baptist Church on Ross Street with Reverend George R. Williams officiating.

Faith Cole (Brown), sister of the bride, was Maid of Honor. Vellna Perdue (Mennis) and Della Cole (Blake), sisters of the bride, were her brides’ maids. Ernest Walden was best man.

Tom is a retired contractor. Tom and Eudora are owners of T. A. Mitchell Rentals, which Eudora managed.

The couple met when Tom went with his father to install electricity at Eudora’s parent’s house on River Street. Tom is the oldest of eight children born to Thomas Lattimore Mitchell and Mildred (Heathcock) Mitchell. Eudora is the fourth of eight children born to Kenneth Fox Cole and Lena Ruth (Wilson) Cole.

The couple are the proud parents of seven children: Teresa (Otis) Rodgers of Willis, Mich.; Diana (Thea) Little of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; Janice (Jackie) Fort of Ashley, Ohio; Eudora Mitchell of Delaware, Ohio; Thomas (Valerie) Mitchell of Ostrander, Ohio ; Steven (Francine) Mitchell of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; and Yvonne Mitchell of Columbus, Ohio.

Tom and Eudora have 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. They plan on celebrating on June 26 with a private dinner party party at All Occasions in Waldo.
