Today is the final day of two winter programs at the Delaware County District Library – the Winter Reading Club and Personalized Picks. From Dec. 1 through Jan. 31, the community is invited to cozy up and read and potentially walk away with a prize!

In traveling across the Buckeye State, the topic of housing continues to be top of mind for our fellow Ohioans.

Last spring, my wife and I decided to get a few chicks to raise. We thought it would be a good learning experience for our daughter. Plus, we wanted to enjoy some fresh eggs.

The question about when I was going to join a “Mothers’ Club” was asked to me by my husband about a month after our older daughter was born. I told him that you have to wait to be asked in order to join one of the Mothers’ clubs. This was back in the 1960s when everything in our village was still new to me.

Last week, we began discussing Galileo Galilee’s relationship with the Catholic Church.

We may be several months away from April 15, but it’s usually about this time of year when folks are already preparing to file their 2023 taxes. The Consumer Finance Protection Bureau recommends that whether a person believes they do not owe taxes or they expect a refund, it is still best to file early to ensure no balance is owed or to receive that refund a little bit earlier.

Winter weather began in earnest at Stratford Ecological Center on Liberty Road on Friday, Jan. 12. The temps dropped, the wind blew strongly, and there were heavy squalls of rain. The wind had been strong all week, and every day the popular Sugar Shack and Creek Trails were inspected to spot any fallen trees. Cold temperatures, occasionally in the single digits at night, continued the following week with a few snow showers.

Right now, electric cooperatives provide more than 380,000 homes and businesses in Ohio with affordable and reliable electricity. It’s why I’m working to stop federal red tape that would make it harder for these co-ops to stop electric bills from going up.

We briefly discussed Galileo and his relationship to the Catholic Church a few weeks ago. Galileo was an advocate of the Copernican system. He argued that the sun is at the center of the cosmos and that Earth and the other planets orbit the sun.
