4th of July!


Ostrander

Ostrander will host a daylong July Fourth celebration beginning at 10 a.m. with a parade themed, “America is Bruised, but never Broken.”

Parade staging begins at 8:30 a.m. at the village mill. The parade will proceed through the village’s main streets, ending at Buckeye Valley West Elementary School, 61 N. 3rd St., and will last between 45 minutes to an hour.

World War II combat veteran Don Wilson, a member of the 101st Airborne Division, will serve as the grand marshal.

A kiddie tractor pull begins at 4 p.m. with the tractor square dance at 8 p.m. Following the square dance is a Kelly Ryan concert. Fireworks begin at dusk and are free to the public.

A variety of activities and food are available throughout the day, including:
• Barbecue chicken sponsored by the Ostrander Civic Association;
• Ice cream and pie from the Scioto Township Fire Department;
• Burgers, brats and French fries from the Fourth of July committee;
• Leb’s Pizza; and games and rides, provided by Freddie Pope.
