State pulls funding for railroad overpass

The state has pulled $9 million of funding that had been expected to help pay for a Powell-area railroad overpass, a move which county engineers say could jeopardize the project.

In 2000, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced it would dedicate $200 million for grade separation projects to help improve safety at railroad crossings. A proposed project to spend $15 million to build an overpass where Home Road crosses the CSX Railroad tracks was on a list of candidates for the money.... Cont'd
