County voters say no to sirens

In what they said was “democracy in action,” Delaware County commissioners voted to place on Tuesday’s ballot two levies that would pay to build and maintain a countywide siren system on the ballot.

The voters said no.

According to complete, but unofficial voting results compiled by the county election board, the 0.4 mill levy to build the siren system was rejected by a 61 to 39 percent vote, while the accompanying 0.1 mill levy was defeated by a 67 to 33 percent vote. ... Cont'd
