Hotel demolition bids received

Planning continues on the possible demolition of the Delaware Hotel with the help of federal grant funds, the Delaware city planning director told the city planning commission Wednesday night.

The city is still in its “due diligence” period and received five bids on Friday for asbestos removal and demolition, all coming in at the city’s estimated $550,000 or below. An appraisal contract already has been awarded for $5,500 with Frank Hinkle of the Robert Weiler Company, but the appraisal will not take place until early next week, city planning director Dave Efland said Wednesday night.... Cont'd
