Two film festivals presented by Ohio Wesleyan University are open to the public and will continue into April. One festival is free, and the other has paid admission.
The second annual Tournees French Film Festival is free, with English subtitles, introductions and post-viewing discussions.
The remaining films in the series are:
• “Girlhood,” April 1, 7 p.m. in the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, Benes Room B. Karidja Toure stars as a 16-year-old Parisian who joins a female gang.
• “Li’l Quinquin,” April 4, 7 p.m., Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, Benes Room B. Children attempt to solve a series of murders in a seaside town.
• “Farewell, My Queen,” April 8, 7 p.m., Merrick Hall, Room 301. The French Revolution is seen through the eyes of one of Marie Antoinette’s servants in 1789.
The annual “Community Film Series” in the Strand Theatre, 28 E. Winter St., continues at 9:15 p.m. Tuesdays and 7 p.m. Wednesdays through April. Admission is $6.50, or $5.50 with OWU ID. The films have English subtitles as needed.
The remaining films in the series are:
• “Cinema Paradiso,” March 29-30. An Oscar-winning Italian film about a town’s love for its movie theater.
• “7 Boxes,” April 5-6. A boy has to deliver containers in a city marketplace — or else, in this 2012 thriller.
• “The Piano in a Factory,” April 12-13. Estranged parents in China vie for their daughter’s custody with the promise of a piano.
• “Frame by Frame,” April 19-20. A documentary about four Afghan photographers since the ousting of the Taliban.
• “While We’re Young,” April 26-27. Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts star in this comic drama about multiple generations of filmmakers.
