Arrow Industrial Supply coming to Sunbury

Arrow Industrial Supply, currently located in Westerville, is planning to move its warehouse and shipping operation to Sunbury Industrial Park.

During an informal discussion at the April 4 meeting of Sunbury’s planning and zoning commission, it was noted that Arrow, a firm that markets nuts, bolts and fasteners and has 14 employees, would like to build an 11,300 square-foot facility at 660 Kintner Parkway.

It was noted that the 1.32-acre site is flat, and fronted by a 100-foot American Electric Power easement and a 20-foot sanitary sewer easement.

Because the location is zoned for industrial use, Sunbury’s consulting engineer Wes Hall said Arrow’s proposed warehouse, shipping and receiving facility would be a permitted use.

“It meets setbacks, and the building is 30-feet high, within code,” Hall said. “Parking is short, and site lighting will have to be provided. The trees along the north side of site should be maintained, and water, sewer and storm (sewers) are available.”

Hall said that because of the location, use and zoning, no traffic impact study is required, and the front of the building could be metal siding.

Arrow plans to submit a formal zoning application, and start building in June or July.

Mayor Tommy Hatfield said he was happy to have a clean business like Arrow relocate to Sunbury.
