Widening of 750 slated for fall

Delaware County commissioners have taken another step toward a project to widen Ohio 750.

Commissioners last week approved a final agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation to move forward with the project that will widen the road to five lanes from Sawmill Parkway to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.

In addition to the widening, the project will also include the added dual left-turn lanes at the intersection of Sawmill Parkway and a multi-use path of the north side of the road.

The project is a collaboration between Delaware County, Liberty Township, the city of Powell and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Delaware County will contribute $815,000 toward the project, while Liberty Township and the city of Powell will each contribute $150,000.

The Ohio Department of Transportation will cover the remaining cost of the $5.9 million project.

Construction is slated to begin in November and conclude in October 2016.

Traffic will be maintained throughout the project.
