Women Giving Together, a donor-advised giving circle affiliated with the Delaware County Foundation, presented $17,800 to seven local charitable organizations throughout Delaware County at its recent annual grants reception.

Grants were given to the following organizations which are either based in Delaware County or are providing services to Delaware County residents:

• Blessings in a Backpack

• Central Ohio Symphony

• Delaware General Health District

• Liberty Community Health Center

• National Church Residences

• ReStart

• The Salvation Army

“These seven organizations are doing exceptional things in our community,” said Sue Mahler, co-founder of Women Giving Together. “We are truly inspired by their dedication and honored to support their missions.”

A giving circle is a group who pools their donation, collaborates with one another to decide where to give money and learns about the needs of the community. Women Giving Together has provided more than $65,000 in grants since it was founded in 2010. The organization is a donor-advised fund of the Delaware County Foundation.

“Women Giving Together conducts its grant making through a donor-advised fund because of its administrative conveniences, cost savings and unique tax advantages,” said Paula Tarpey, one of the founding members of Women Giving Together and COO/shareholder at Kensington Wealth Partners Ltd./Lincoln Financial Advisors. “This allows us to combine funds and make a far greater impact on the Delaware County community than we would with smaller, individual donations.”
