4 parks programs coming up

Preservation Parks of Delaware County has announced four upcoming September programs. They include:

• “Story Time in the Park,” Monday, Sept. 14, 9 a.m. Little ones discover the natural world with a nature-themed story, songs and sensory fun. Ages 0-3. Deer Haven Preserve, 4183 Liberty Road.

• “Railroad Fun,” Saturday, Sept. 19, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 20, noon to 4 p.m. Watch model trains travel through a miniature village and learn about the railroad industry in America. Free; all ages. Big Walnut Community Trail House, 168 S. Vernon St.

• “Hound Hike,” Monday, Sept. 21, 6:30 p.m. Bring your socialized canine along for a walk with a naturalist. Getha Fine Arts and Photography is the featured guest. All ages. Shale Hollow Preserve, 6320 Artesian Run.

• “Hike for Health,” Saturday, Sept. 26, 10 a.m. Another in the park district’s series of healthy hikes. If this is your first, sign up at [email protected]. Hike is free; $5 fee for series T-shirt. All ages. Blues Creek Preserve, 9627 Fontanelle Road.
