Parks activities slated

Preservation Parks of Delaware have several activities planned in July.

They include:

• “Picnic in the Park,” 6:30 p.m. July 15. Pack up a picnic basket and blanket and head to the park. See a “Birds-of-Prey” program by the Ohio Wildlife Center, and then have Dutch oven dump cake with ice cream. Registration is required by July 11. Free, all ages. Deer Haven Park, 4183 Liberty Road, Delaware.

The following free programs do not require advance registration:

• “In Search Of … “, Saturday, July 9, 10 a.m. Find answers to mysteries in the park. Wear long pants and sturdy shoes, and bring a water bottle. Free, ages 7 and older. Emily Traphagen Park, 5094 Seldom Seen Road, Powell.

• “Critter Clues: Nature’s ‘Who-Done-It,’” Sunday, July 10, 10 a.m. to noon. Join a park officer to investigate a “crime scene” and follow clues and evidence throughout the park to solve a cunning caper. Free, ages 6-9. Emily Traphagen Park.

• “Little Adventurers,” Tuesday, July 12, 10 a.m. Explore nature with your little one. Free, ages 0-5 accompanied by a parent. Shale Hollow Park, 6320 Artesian Run, Lewis Center.

• “Thursday Evening Concert Series,” Thursday, July 14, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Marquis 66, a classic rock, and 1960s-’70s band will be featured. Admission and parking are free, and donations will be accepted. Attendees may bring blankets, lawn chairs and refreshments, or purchase food from a food truck. Alcohol is prohibited in the park. Free, all ages. Gallant Woods Park, 2151 Buttermilk Hill Road, Delaware.
