Genoa Township officials are reminding eastern Delaware County residents that the section of Worthington Road north of East Powell Road will close for 30 days, beginning Monday, July 18.

A detour reroutes traffic from Worthington Road to Africa Road to Polaris Parkway to Worthington Road, or reverse.

The closure is part of a construction project that will realign East Powell Road and its intersection with Worthington Road.

As part of the construction project’s later phases, East Powell Road will close at Worthington Road for 30 days after Worthington Road reopens; and Worthington Road will close at Polaris Parkway for 30 days after East Powell Road reopens.

When complete in October, the new East Powell Road will have two right-turn lanes and one left-turn lane onto Worthington Road; Worthington Road will have a dedicated right-turn lane onto new East Powell Road; and East Powell Road will have a dedicated right-turn lane to Bale Kenyon Road.

For access to Acorn Farms, follow the detour. The Acorn Farms business drive will remain open during construction.
