Jackson Farms hosting final Fall Fun Fest

If there were American Cancer Society Relay For Life superstars, Belinda Jackson, of the Jackson Farms Relay For Life Team, would head the list in Big Walnut territory.

Twelve years ago Jackson, a cancer survivor, set a goal of raising $250,000 for the American Cancer Society through her team’s efforts.

This past year Jackson reached her goal. Each year Jackson Farms has hosted a Fall Fun Fest as a Relay For Life fundraiser, and she chaired the Relay For Life of Big Walnut for many of those years.

With her goal reached, Jackson has announced that Jackson Farms will host a “thank you party” for 12 years of continuous Big Walnut community support — the Jackson Farms ACS/Relay For Life Team Final Fall Farm Fun Fest and Hog Roast.

The event will be held from 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, at Jackson Farm, 2341 S. State Route 605 in Harlem Township.

Food will begin serving at 5 p.m., along with folk music by Dave Martin and Friends. No later than 6:30 p.m., 3C Highway will take over the stage.

Jackson said the full meal and music event is family-friendly. There will be pumpkin decorating, along with special surprises for the young and young at heart.

The evening will also consist of a 50/50 drawing, many silent auction items, and Chinese raffles.

“Come prepared to eat, listen to enjoyable music, and bid in the silent auction along with buying raffle tickets to put in the buckets that coincide with the item that you would like to take home,” Jackson said. “There will be toys, dolls, games, quilts, fall and Christmas items, OSU baskets, plus much more.”

Jackson said the event is free, there will be no admission charge, but donations will be accepted with all money going to the American Cancer Society-Relay For Life of the Big Walnut/Sunbury Area.

Donations can be made via cash or checks payable to the American Cancer Society.
