Road work nears completion

Traffic congestion due to construction at the intersection of Sawmill Parkway and State Route 750 in Powell will soon find relief, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Officials said they have completed the paving for Sawmill Parkway Thursday morning, except for the right northbound lane.

“It will be closed intermittently for construction of the curb ramps and landscaping,” said Nancy Burton, spokesperson. “Closed intermittently means between now and Oct. 10, 2016, the contract completion date.”

Burton said all dates of completion are contingent on the weather’s cooperation.

“The forecast doesn’t look favorable for the next three days,” Burton said.

Burton said, the final paving of State Route 750 between Sawmill Parkway and Gibson Drive will be completed by Sept. 14.

Burton said there might be exception, “The far right lane of west bound State Route 750 will remain closed for construction for curb ramps and landscaping until Oct. 10.”

“We’re close to completion, which is great news,” Burton said.
