Delaware police report:

Officers responded to an apartment on North Washington Street Tuesday afternoon to the report of a possible overdose. When they arrived they found several younger children in a common stairwell and found a door to a nearby apartment was open. The door led to the apartment where the alleged overdose occurred but instead they found two sleeping females, neither of whom had overdosed. However, police learned the children had let themselves out of the apartment while they were unattended. An endangering children report was taken. Police report the call came from a third party who did not leave their name. The report was forwarded to children services.

Parents on Tabilore Loop reported their juvenile daughter had run away Tuesday afternoon. Police searched the area and found the 14-year-old girl and returned her home. The parents did not wish to press charges against their daughter.

A 24-year-old fled from police Tuesday night in the parking lot of Delaware Community Plaza on Columbus Pike. An officer recognized the man as having an active arrest warrant for failing to appear in Delaware Municipal Court for a driving under suspension charge. The officer approached the man and he denied being the wanted person and immediately ran. He was taken into custody after a brief pursuit and police confirmed he was the wanted man. He was taken to the Delaware County Jail on the warrant and charged with obstructing official business.
