Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies are still investigating an armed robbery at a bank in Lewis Center.

Officials from the Sheriff’s Office said they received a call Friday around 12:41 p.m. that notified them of an armed robbery at the Delaware County Bank branch located at 34 Evergreen Ave.

They reported that several shots were fired inside the bank, but no one was hit although medics did respond to the call.

Officials reported around 1:35 p.m. that deputies were still searching the area but were not able to get a solid description of the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect reportedly robbed the bank in a dark mask and left in a black sedan. Witnesses told deputies they believe the suspect was male.

As a precaution, Olentangy Schools put about a dozen of their schools on lockdown Friday afternoon.

Residents with information about the robbery can contact the sheriff’s office at 740-833-2800.
