City of Delaware police report:

Officers were summoned to an apartment on Pebble Place Drive on the report of an unattended toddler Thursday morning. Police learned a witness had been looking after the toddler for approximately 20 minutes. The child was outside his apartment and not properly dress for the weather. Police learned the mother had been away from the apartment and and left the child unattended. Police also learned a similar situation had occurred a month earlier. The mother was issued a charge of child endangering and ordered to appear in Delaware Municipal Court.

A dog was found running at large Thursday just after 12:30 a.m. in the area of White Elm Drive and Alameda Way. Police transported the dog back to its owner on Brendon Loop. The dog has been documented running at large several times before. The investigation was forwarded to the Community Services Officer.

Police responded to a burglar alarm at a restaurant on Wootring Street Thursday just before 3 a.m. They found an exterior door had been forced open but it was unknown if anything was taken. There are no suspects at this time.

An officer was requested at a store on Columbus Pike Thursday afternoon. Employees reported a man posed as a woman, came into the store and put several bottles of liquor into a bag they were carrying and then left the story. Police learned a Delaware County Sheriff’s deputy had previous run ins with the suspect and after viewing the surveillance footage, the deputy confirmed the man’s identity. The man will be charged with petty theft.
