The Alpha Group of Delaware, Inc. hosted its first annual “Pairings with Alpha” event held at The Delaware Golf Club Thursday evening.
Liz Owens, CEO, welcomed current partners and new friends.
“This evening is about celebrating the success of the individuals we serve and recognizing its partnerships which helps make this happen,” Owens said.
Awards were presented to each program and service division with an overall “Paring of the Year” Award recognition presented to Marlene Casini of the Delaware County Foundation and Tammy Potts, CFO of T&R Properties to accept on behalf of the Ron Sabatino Family Fund and the Delaware County Foundation. The grant provided a handicap-accessible van and funds for client recognition.
Clients are presented with a gift card for their birthday along with an extra gift amount to participate in outings. The combined grants will enable clients of the Alpha Group to enjoy and participate in cultural and community experiences, a news release states.
At Alpha our partners play a vital role in each individuals success and we are proud to extend to our members an array of programs and services which include: Community Employment, Integrated Adult Day, Supportive Living, Transportation and Work Training.
Other award categories included:
• Community Employment “Pairing Award” presented to Missy Thompson, Human Resource Manager of Columbus Hospitality Management located at Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center.
• Integrated Adult Day “Pairing Award” was presented to Tim Funk & Lisa Benton, Co-founders of Stockhands Horses for Healing.
• Manufacturing “Pairing Award” presented to Kathy King, Manager Customer Support & Services at Greif, Inc.
• Transportation “Pairing Award” presented to Fara Waugh, Director of Client Services at SourcePoint.
• Custodial & Lawn Services “Pairing Award” presented to Glenn Marzluf, General Manager/CEO of Del-Co Water Company, Inc.
Guests were treated to “Pairings on the Patio” which included: Murray Cheese of Kroger Marketplace and Cheesecakes by Berni paired with Powell Village Winery, Restoration Brew Worx paired with Yabo’s Tacos and Watershed Distillery paired with Buckeye Boys BBQ.
Since 1970, The Alpha Group has grown to become the largest provider of service to individuals with developmental disabilities in Delaware County and growing to meet the needs in surrounding counties.
