Delaware County Board of Elections Director Karla Herron said Monday the 2.5 mills levy for Marlboro Township was a tie. As a result, there will be a hand recount of the votes from the Nov. 8 general election at a date still to be determined.

Marlboro Township trustees approved putting an additional 2.5 mills levy on the ballot stating “for the purpose of current expenses.”

The levy of 2.5 mills for each $1 of valuation amounts to 25 cents per each $100 of valuation for the term of 3-years commencing in 2016 and first due in calendar year 2017.

Herron said the board is also waiting on word about a possible statewide recount for the Ohio Supreme Court.
