Delaware County is No. 2 for receiving highest Social Security income

Delaware County is among the highest in the state for residents receiving the highest Social Security payments in Ohio.

Delaware ranked No. 2 with residents receiving on average an annual $19,310 with the cost of living at $18,319, according to a SmartAsset study. But the city ranked No. 17 when it came to how far Social Security benefits met most of residents’ living needs. The city ranked second to last for the cost of living.

SmartAsset looked at the average Social Security income for each county and calculated how the the income would go in every county to cover the basic necessities and indexed the results.

Union County ranked 10th.
