Delaware police report:

A mail carrier was bitten by a dog in front of a residence in the 200 block of South Sandusky Street Wednesday afternoon. The carrier told police he was delivering mail when the resident’s dog bit his hand through a fence. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries and the owner was served with a 10-day quarantine notice. A report was taken and will be investigated to ensure the dog is properly registered and had necessary shots.

An infant was reportedly living in a vehicle with its parents Wednesday in the area of David Street. Police spoke to the infant’s parents, who denied making the infant sleep in the vehicle overnight and said the infant stays with family at night. The child did not appear to be in any distress, according to police, but a report was sent to Children’s Services for follow-up.

A purse was stolen from a vehicle parked outside Fred Astaire Dance Studio Wednesday night. The owner told police someone smashed her window and stole the purse.
