Delaware police report:

Police responded to the report of a suspicious person in the area of Rheem Street and Cheshire Street Wednesday morning. When they arrived they found an adult female crawling on the ground. Officers made contact with her and found she was under the influence of alcohol and had minor injuries that appeared to be from falling. City of Delaware Fire transported the woman to Grady Memorial Hospital where she was treated for her injuries. She was also issued a summons for disorderly conduct while intoxicated and police learned she had an active arrest warrant for a Delaware County Sheriff’s Office case. Deputies were notified so they could take custody of her when she completes her treatment.

Police were requested at a bar on the first block of North Sandusky Street Wednesday night to help a person lying on the sidewalk who may have been assaulted. Officers spoke to the man lying on the ground and found he had injuries to his face but he denied being assault. Several witnesses advised he had been punched in the face by another male. However, the man denied he was assaulted and declined to file any charges. The business asked police to tell the alleged assailant not to return there.
