Two Buckeye Valley High School students received Rotary Club of Delaware Youth Exchange Scholarships. Zinnia Erickson and McKayla Rodman were each awarded scholarships of more than $24,000 to study in Japan. This covers room, board, tuition and a monthly stipend for one academic year of high school abroad. The scholarship is for the 2017-18 academic year. In August the students will depart for Japan to begin their role as global ambassadors, representing the Delaware Rotary Club, their high school and the country. The pair will be involved in extensive leadership, language and cultural training between now and their departure. Annually, 8,000 students ages 15 to 18 and 1/2 participate in this program worldwide. The Rotary Club of Delaware was chartered in 1928 and has a membership of more than 90 men and women who foster the service above self motto in their community and beyond. The club is part of Rotary International District 6690.
