City meetings scheduled this week

The city of Delaware will have four public meeting this week at City Hall, 1 S. Sandusky St., in council chambers. Delaware City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday for a regular meeting and the Shade Tree Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Historic Preservation Commission will meet 7 p.m. Wednesday, while the Records Commission will be meeting at 3 p.m. Thursday.

City releases construction activites

The following are construction activites in the right-of-way for this week:

• Turn lane installation at Glenn Parkway at Delaware Area Career Center begins Monday. There could be possible delays.

• Tree clearing and mowing for Terra Alta off-site utilities installation project on Pollock Road begins Monday. There could be intermittent lane closures.

• Traffic calming pavement marking applications and sign installations at Buehler Drive and Lexington Boulevard will begin on Wednesday. Short-term delays are possible.

• Sanitary sewer main repairs at the east-west alley, north of Central Avenue between Sandusky and Union streets, will start Monday with completion set at May 26. The alley will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day until completed.

Jack Florance to open Memorial Day weekend

The Jack Florance pool and the Spray and Play at Veterans Park will open on Saturday. The pool will be open from 6 to 7 a.m. for morning lap swim and noon to 8 p.m. for lap and open swim Mondays through Fridays, and noon to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
