County commission schedule

The Delaware County Commissioners will conduct their regular meetings at 9:30 a.m. Monday and Thursday. Commission meetings are held in the hearing room at 101 N. Sandusky St. For information, visit www.co.delaware.oh.us/index.php/commissioners.

City meetings this week

The Delaware Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will meet at City Hall, 1 S. Sandusky St., 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Strand Theatre offers free kid shows

The Strand Theatre kicks off its summer kids shows with a showing of “Trolls” on Tuesday. Summer kids shows are at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays until after Aug. 1. Donations are encouraged for the designated charity. Movie goers are encouraged to bring shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, diapers, dish soap, laundry detergent for Common Ground Free Store Ministries this week. New city projects start this week

The following is the right-of-way construction activities that will start this week:

Colorado cable company WideOpenWest Inc. will have underground installations on Pinecrest and Greenlawn drives on Monday with traffic maintained. American Broadband will conduct installations on Stratford Road the same day.

Farmers’ Market keeps rolling along

Main Street Delaware’s downtown Farmers’ Markets continue this week. The market will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday along North Sandusky Street.

Business After Hours at Tanger

Tanger Outlet Mall is hosting a combined business after hours with the Delaware Area Chamber of Commerce and the Sunbury/Big Walnut Area Chamber of Commerce from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cookbook Club meets at library

The Delaware Cookbook Club is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Delaware Main Library, 84 E. Winter St. This month’s selected cookbook is “Sodium Girl’s Limitless Low-Sodium Cookbook” written by Jessica Goldman Foung. An Evening at Perkins Observatory

An Evening at Perkins Observatory is set for 9 p.m. Friday. Tickets are required. The observatory is located at 3199 Columbus Pike, Delaware. For information, call 740-363-1257 or email [email protected].

City to dedicate water plant

The city of Delaware will dedicate the water treatment plant, 3080 U.S. Route 23 N., and its education center at noon Saturday. The new plant opened in 2016. It was the first major overhaul since 1976. The education center opened in April.

Mingoman Triathlon is Sunday

The MingoMan Triathlon & Duathlon is Sunday. The event starts at Delaware State Park then contiunes with a bike race to downtown Delaware and concludes with a run through the streets of the city. For information or to register, visit mingomantri.com.
