Penguin coming to library

The Newport Aquarium WAVE Foundation is bringing an African Penguin to the main branch of the Delaware County District Library. The family program is planned for 6:30 p.m. on June 27. The main library is located at 84 E. Winter St.

Public Works meeting canceled

The City of Delaware Public Works/Public Utilities meeting scheduled for July 11 has been canceled.

Culvert repairs on Curve Road

The Delaware County Engineer reports that a section of Curve Road will be closed June 26-30 for culvert replacement work. The stretch from Winding Creek Lane to Dale Ford Road will be shut down as crews install the new culvert. The roadway is expected to be open to traffic on June 30.

An Evening at Perkins Observatory

City water plant dedication

The city of Delaware will dedicate the water treatment plant, 3080 U.S. Route 23 N., and its education center at 10 a.m. Saturday. The new plant opened in 2016. It was the first major overhaul since 1976. The education center opened in April.

Mingoman Triathlon is Sunday

The MingoMan Triathlon & Duathlon is Sunday. The event starts at Delaware State Park then contiunes with a bike race to downtown Delaware and concludes with a run through the streets of the city. For information or to register, visit mingomantri.com.
