City meetings this week

The city of Delaware has three public meetings scheduled this week at City Hall, 1 S. Sandusky St. City Council will meet Monday, the Shade Tree Commission will meet on Tuesday, and the Historic Preservation Commission will meet Wednesday. All meetings begin at 7 p.m.

Strand Theatre offers free kid shows

The Strand Theatre is offering summer kids shows at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays until after Aug. 1. This week’s showing will be the movie “Sing.” Moviegoers are encouraged to bring school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, and writing utensils to donate to the Delaware County Kiwanis, Noon Club this week. City looking for entrepreneurs

The city of Delaware’s economic development officials are on the hunt for three entrepreneurs looking to pitch their idea and business model to other local entrepreneurs. The pitches will be five minutes each with the presenter receiving questions and feedback. The presentation is scheduled from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Aug. 17. Farmers’ Market keeps rolling along

Main Street Delaware’s downtown Farmers’ Markets continue this week. The market will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday along North Sandusky Street.

Penguin coming to library

The Newport Aquarium WAVE Foundation is bringing an African Penguin to the main branch of the Delaware County District Library. The family program is planned for 6:30 p.m. on June 27. The main library is located at 84 E. Winter St.
