Delaware police report:

• Officers were requested at the Speedway on West Central Avenue Sunday morning to deal with a man attempting to buy cigarettes three different times without identification. Police spoke to the man and he was dissatisfied that he couldn’t buy cigarettes. However, when police checked the man’s identification they learned he had an active warrant for his arrest in Illinois for violating his parole. The man was taken into custody and held at the Delaware County Jail pending extradition back to Illinois.

• Police were dispatched to an apartment on South Franklin Street Sunday afternoon after a mother told police her son had taken some prescription medications and said he was going to kill himself. Police made contact with the son who did not exhibit any signs of drug use or thoughts of suicide. He told police there was an ongoing disagreement between him and his mother. A report was filed to document the incident.

• Police approached a vehicle with expired plates at the Speedway on London Road Sunday morning and while they were speaking to the driver he admitted his license was suspended. Police then observed drug paraphernalia sitting in plain view on the passenger seat. The man was arrested and charged with driving under suspension, no license and possession of drug paraphernalia.
