Float with a naturalist
Preservation Parks invites the public to Float with a Naturalist at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10 at River Run Park, 168 Main Road, Delaware. Attendees are invited to use their own canoe or kayak and join a naturalist for a paddle down Olentangy River. This event is open to participants age 18 and older. Preregistration is required. Ashley UMC homecoming
Ashley United Methodist Church will celebrate homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 10. All current and former members are invited to attend the service at 9 a.m. The church is located at 214 E. High St. in Ashley.
All Horse Parade is Sunday
The 2017 All Horse Parade will step off at 3 p.m. Sunday through the streets of Delaware. The parade route begins at the main gate of the Delaware County Fairgrounds and travels east along Pennsylvania Avenue, south on Sandusky Street, west on Winter Street, north on Liberty Street, west on Lincoln Avenue, then north on Euclid Avenue back to the fairgrounds. According to officials from the Delaware County Fair, it’s one of the largest annual horse parades conducted east of the Mississippi River. For information, visit www.delawarecountyfair.com.
9/11 ceremony in Powell
The Liberty Township Fire Department is hosting a 9/11 memorial ceremony on Monday, Sept. 11. The ceremony to honor the memory of first responders is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at the Greater Powell Veterans Memorial, 47 Hall St.
Storytime in the park
Preservation Parks is hosting Storytime in the Park on Monday, Sept. 11 at Blues Creek Park, 9627 Fontanelle Road, Ostrander. It begins at 10 a.m. Activities include a reading of the book “In the Trees Honeybees,” crafts, and a nature walk. This event is for children age 3 and younger. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Storytime in the Park is made possible through a partnership with the Delaware County District Library. For information, visit www.preservationparks.com.
