Suspects in Powell break-ins indicted

A Delaware County Grand Jury issued a number of indictments Thursday and indicted two people for a series of vehicle break-ins in Powell.

Prosecutors reported that Michael Baldwin, 32, and Kayla Harkness, 25, were indicted Thursday and alleged the two are responsible for a series of break-ins in Powell from Aug. 30 to Nov. 1 of this year. Prosecutors said the stolen items included a firearm and credit cards that were later used at Walmart in Grove city.

Baldwin is charged with burglary, a second-degree felony; three counts of theft, a third-degree felony, a fifth-degree felony, and a first-degree misdemeanor; three counts of receiving stolen property and five counts of identity fraud, all fifth-degree felonies.

Harkness is charged with three counts of identity fraud, fifth-degree felonies.

“Powell Police followed up with a community crime alert,” said Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien. “The alert included surveillance videos of the suspects and their vehicle.”

Prosecutors said the cards were also used at Lowe’s, Marathon, and Speedway.

Arraignments for Baldwin and Harkness have not yet been scheduled.

Other individuals indicted by the grand jury included:

• Jessica L. Long, of Delaware, was charged with two counts of felonious assault, second-degree felonies.

• William F. Terry, of Ostrander, was charged with forgery, a fifth-degree felony.

• Randa R. Hobbs, of Delaware, was charged with four counts of illegal use of food stamps or WIC program benefit, fifth-degree felonies.

• Michael W. Clark, was charged with menacing by stalking, a fourth-degree felony.

• Jeremy M. Rodriguez, of Columbus, was charged with one count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; carrying concealed weapons, a fourth-degree felony; and one count of possession of drugs, a minor misdemeanor.

•Max R. Erwin Jr., of Hilliard, was charged with theft, a fourth-degree felony.

• Reed A. Franta, of Westerville, was charged with assault, a fourth-degree felony; one count of harassment by inmate, a fifth-degree felony; and one count of resisting arrest, a first-degree misdemeanor.

• Keith A. Moore, of Columbus, was charged with 11 counts of receiving stolen property, one fourth-degree felony, nine fifth-degree felonies, and one first-degree misdemeanor.

• Antwuan L. Carlton, of Lorain, was charged with having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony, and one count of possession of drugs, a minor misdemeanor.
