Delaware-area students nominated for service academies

Congressman Pat Tiberi, R-Genoa Township, has announced his nominees for consideration to admission to the U.S. Service Academies’ classes of 2020.

Tiberi nominated 29 students from his 12th Congressional District to be considered for appointment to one of the five service academies.

Nominated from Delaware County were:

• Andrew Staley, son of Eric and Jill Staley, Rutherford B. Hayes High School, who received a nomination to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

• Pierce Harmon, son of Jon and Candace Harmon, Olentangy Orange High School, who received nominations to the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

• John Saczawa, son of John and Deborah Saczawa, Olentangy Liberty High School, who received a nomination to the U.S. Military Academy.

• Alexander Banik, son of Joseph and Julie Banik, Westerville Central High School, who received a nomination to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

• Austin Beam, son of Thomas and Molly Beam, St. Charles Preparatory School, who received a nomination to the U.S. Military Academy.

• Reagan Di Iorio, daughter of Tania and Matthew Di Iorio, Dublin Jerome High School, who received a nomination to the U.S. Naval Academy.

• Ian Risser, son of Lane and Kellie Risser, Lutheran High School West, who received nominations to the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

• Leah Roach, daughter of Keith Roach and Kathy Richard, Genoa Christian Academy, who received a nomination to the U.S. Naval Academy.

• Ragan Tuffey, son of Mike and Melissa Tuffey, St. Francis DeSales High School, who received a nomination to the U.S. Military Academy.
