DCDL announces new closure schedule

0

Keeping Delaware County District Library (DCDL) patrons and staff safe and healthy is the library’s top priority. We’ve made important changes to our previously announced closure schedule in the light of new information regarding the ever-changing COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation. All DCDL locations have closed as of Monday.

The library’s previously communicated plan was to close to the public beginning Tuesday, March 17, mirroring Gov. Mike Dewine’s order to Ohio schools. However, the spread of the disease to our region, plus our responsibility to enforce social distancing, has led to this updated decision.

Locations will remain closed through Sunday, April 5, pending further instruction.

All physical material due dates are extended to Monday, April 13.

Patrons are advised to refrain from returning materials or bringing donations of used books and other materials until the library reopens to the public.

Questions regarding the library’s digital collections, library card PINs and error messages may be emailed to [email protected].

Any Ohio resident may sign up for a digital library card at www.delawarelibrary.org/librarycard.

Digital resources remain available 24/7 for patrons’ use and librarian recommendations are available at www.delawarelibrary.org.

These precautions are made in the interest of public safety and the prevention of community spread. The COVID-19 situation is changing rapidly, and the Delaware County District Library will continue to monitor the situation and collaborate with public health officials.

Delaware County District Library locations include the Delaware Main Library, Maker Annex, and branches in Powell, Ostrander, and Orange Township.

The library is encouraged by the public’s outreach and support during these unprecedented and challenging times.
