MERCER COUNTY — The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a Friday morning crash that left two hospitalized.

At 10:28 a.m., Kerry Zuercher, 51, was driving a 1999 Dodge pickup on Celina Mendon Road north of Howick Road, according to Sheriff’s Office officials. Zuercher attempted to pass a vehicle while Lynn M. Combs-Abels, 43, of Mendon, was traveling north in a 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada. Combs-Abels swerved off the right side of the road to avoid a collision and then overturned before coming to rest in a field.

Combs-Abels and her passenger, Thomas Abels, 61, of Mendon, were both taken to local hospitals before being flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Their conditions were unavailable Saturday evening.
