The Marshall Tucker Band won’t be coming to Delaware for the county fair this month after all.
The Delaware County Fair announced last week that the concert, featuring the Marshall Tucker Band, Wet Willie and These Guys Live, has been canceled by the promoter. It was scheduled for Sept. 15.
“The Fair Board has not been given an adequate explanation for why it was done,” fair manager Bill Lowe said in a prepared statement. “We apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause our valued customers. We are very frustrated by this turn of events and guarantee not to do business with this individual and company again.”
“Our entire effort for this concert was to bring some top-notch entertainment to Delaware and the fair and we thought we had accomplished that effort,” said entertainment committee chair Carolyn Riggle in a statement. “To have this cancellation occur after publicizing the concert for over a month is just unacceptable.”
The two other major fair concerts will go on as scheduled: The Willis Clan, from “America’s Got Talent” on Sept. 13 and the “American Rock Show” event, with Phil Dirt and the Dozers and opening act Black Leather Touch, on Sept. 20.
