Denise Diane Jones, 55, of Centerburg passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on the morning of Thursday (Oct. 15, 2009) at her residence.

She was born in Delaware in 1954. She spent her entire life in Delaware County, graduating from Olentangy High School in the class of 1972. She worked for several companies over the 38 years of employment and was known for her work ethic and commitment to each company. She was currently employed at Kimball Midwest in Columbus since 1996. Denise’s hobbies included playing games, especially cards and bingo; tending her garden ponds; collecting Native American curios; and reading. She enjoyed her country home, Serenity Akers, and making improvements to it with her husband Jeff. Her brothers and sisters will always be grateful for the excellent care she gave her mother in her illness.

She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Jeff; stepson, Jeff Jones II (Kelly) stationed in Yuma, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Amanda Jones of Florida; five grandchildren, Allison and Michelle Doan, Seth Bowdre, Samantha, and Robbie Eso; two brothers, S. Neil (Judy) Orahood of Kilbourne and Tim (Terri) Orahood of Dublin; one sister, Kim (Mark) Mazzon; several nieces and nephews; parents-in-law, Wayne and Ruth Jones; sister-in-law, Debbie Luther; and brother-in-law, Bruce Jones all of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Rocky Orahood.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home in Delaware where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Cindy Berkshire of the White Lily Chapel in Ashley officiating. Interment will follow in Greenmound Cemetery in Kilbourne.
