Daniel Mast

Daniel Mast, age 89 of Delaware, passed away Tuesday (Oct. 20, 2009) in the Laurels of Worthington.

He was born Jan. 19, 1920 in Elkhart, Ind. to Willis J. and Edith M. (Yoder) Mast. A World War II Army Air Corps Veteran, he put himself through Purdue University and Akron Law School. He was a retired patent attorney (intellectual property lawyer) for Owens Corning Fiberglass and Borden, Inc. He was of the Lutheran faith and a member of the Elks, Moose, Eagles and American Legion. He was an avid dog trainer and past national president of the National Short-Haired Pointer Association. He was also a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.

He is survived by a daughter, Marie Martien of Cleveland Heights; son David of Delaware; and grandchildren Michael and Renee Marie Martien.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mariellen Peterson and Emelyn Mast.

Graveside services for the family will be held in Topeka, Ind.
