I. Anita Sturgeon, age 97, died Wednesday (Oct. 21, 2009) at her home near Mt. Vernon.

She was born Aug. 22, 1912 in Union County to Leila (Arnold) and Denver Barry. She was a homemaker and spent most of her life in Scioto Township. She was a member of the Green Valley United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon and the Ostrander Senior Citizens.

She is survived by four daughters, Connie (Richard) Fetter of Marion, Maxine (Richard) Kelley of Ashley, Betty (Donald) Owen of Mt. Vernon and Donna (Charles) Pletcher of Marietta Ga.; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Arlen, in 1961, and her husband Arnold in 1976.

One great-grandson, Rick Kelley, two great-great grandsons, Kevin Chaffin and Stanley Beery

A graveside service for the family was held in Claibourne Cemetery in Richwood with Rev. Gerald Bell officiating.

Robinson Funeral Home in Delaware is in charge of arrangements.
