Carolyn Sue (Ballard) Converse Upchurch

Carolyn Sue (Ballard) Converse Upchurch, 46, of Marion, formerly of Delaware, died unexpectedly at home Tuesday (Oct. 27, 2009).

She was born on Nov. 25, 1962 in Delaware and was a graduate of North Union High School in 1980. Carol worked in the food service industry, co-owning the Converse Family Kitchen at the Eagles Club as well as working for Ohio Wesleyan University.

She was a fan of Elvis and she treasured her grandchildren. She enjoyed games of all types and solving puzzles. She will be remembered for her loving and caring ways.

She is survived by her mother, Ann Roush of Marion; children Chasity Converse of Marion, twins Misty (Steven) Hetrick and Shawn Converse of Columbus, Richard Wilde of Delaware; husband Harold Upchurch; grandchildren Korey, Katelyn, Kenny and Christopher; grandmother Mary Clark of Delaware; sister Chera Roush of Marion; brothers Eddie (Debbie) Haller of Cardington and James (Kellie) Roush of Marion; eight aunts and uncles; 10 nieces and nephews; 18 Cousins; former husband Mike Converse; and close family friend Danny Pelfrey.

She was preceded in death by her father Larry Ballard; step-father James Roush Sr.; son Michael Converse Jr.; grandfather Carlos Clark; and aunt Elsie McKenzie.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where services will follow at 1 p.m.
