John L. Homsher

John L. Homsher, 60, of Marion died Saturday morning (Oct. 31, 2009) at his residence.

He was born Aug. 12, 1949 in Columbus to Robert and Mary (Gabriel) Homsher. He was a maintenance worker who had lived most of his life in Delaware before moving to Marion. While in Marion he attended the Oakland United Methodist Church and was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Delaware. He was very active in the churches including serving as a lay speaker. He also enjoyed camping and NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife of almost 12 years, Bridget (Evans); son, Shawn Homsher of Newark; daughter, Amy (James) Homsher Taylor of Columbus; stepdaughter, Teresa Erlenbach of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Kathleen (John) Gerspacher Johnson of Delaware; five grandchildren, Sydney Homsher, Steven Erlenbach, Natalie Johnson, Aisha Homshe and Jalin Homsher; great-grandchild, Varion; grand dog, Molly; brother, Robert Homsher of Cleveland; and sister-in-law, Marilyn (Dave) Breece of Delaware.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Brian Erlenbach; and his first wife, Debbie.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Delaware, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, with the Revs. Carl Schaefer and Rafael Valesco officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
