Gale C. ‘Race Horse’ Warner

Gale C. “Race Horse” Warner, 87, of Delaware died early Saturday morning (Oct. 31, 2009) at the Arbors at Delaware Nursing Home.

He was born April 2, 1922 in Delaware County to James and Flora (Worley) Warner. He was a U. S. Army veteran and a trainer, groomer and lover of race horses. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church while in Delaware and the DeLeon Springs Methodist Church while wintering in Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruby (Stone); two daughters, Pat (Roger) Felty of Westerville and Carla (Justin) Rengert of West Chester, Pa.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Olen, Francis, Walter, Jim and John; and one sister, Dorothy.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St., Delaware and where a Service of Remembrance will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. David Carter officiating.
