Letter to the editor: Creating ‘a healthy community’ is ‘our objective’

To the editor:

Delaware County is at a pivotal point, and we are seeking our community’s input as we focus on our future.

If you live or work here, you know we’ve experienced tremendous growth over the last two decades. Not only are we the fastest growing county in Ohio, we’re also in the top ranks in the U.S.

On our path to progress, our objective is simple: to create a healthy community. That means we’ve got to be strategic about our growth.

Delaware County commissioners have embarked on the process of developing an economic development action plan to keep our momentum going, stay in the top tier of communities statewide and nationally, and ensure we are addressing the needs of our residents and stakeholders.

Your feedback matters. More than 400 people have already participated in our survey (“Delaware County launches economic development survey,” March 2.). If you haven’t, we urge you to spend a few minutes sharing your opinion. The survey is open until June 1. We are also hosting a series of focus groups for the community in May and June, and we invite you to attend.

For the link to the survey and more information on the focus groups, please go to www.delawarecountyecondev.com.

Together, we can forge a strong and prosperous future for our county.

Bob Lamb

Economic development director
