Letter to the editor: ‘May we all remember to make a difference’

0

Dear family, friends and Big Walnut community: Mark and I wish to offer thanks to all of those who gave of your time on Sunday, July 31, to join our family to stuff book bags that were purchased in Brett’s memory. Even with the fair and vacations occurring, more than 90 people showed up and we were able to pack 126 book bags in about an hour.

To our family and friends who couldn’t join us, we are hoping to be able to continue this next year if the need is still there. You will feel blessed once you experience this event. It was nice to see new faces along with those who have been loyal to this event for many years.

A new book bag and new school supplies will provide many kids with smiles and a great start to the school year. We appreciate you being a part of this!

A very special thanks to Connie Jacob, owner of Learning Express, who provides all the book bags for this event to us at wholesale. Many thanks to those who donate many, many hours each year to this annual project. Thanks to all those who helped stuff the bags, those who sent donations to Big Walnut Friends Who Share in Brett’s memory for the book bags purchased, those who donated supplies and those who kept our family lifted in prayer.

May God continue to bless you and may we all remember to “make a difference.” And may we remember the Young family and friends in our daily prayers.
