I know what it is like to be part of a wonderful city, because it has been my pleasure and honor to represent our great City of Delaware on City Council for 25 years.

One reason why I choose to serve is the chance to help provide our citizens an A-1 community in which to live, raise families and succeed in business.

The upcoming election provides an opportunity to make Delaware even better by voting yes on a transportation levy. The “Band-Aid” approach to transportation issues we have been taking does not permit us to properly address the basics; much less allow our transportation system to keep pace with our growing city.

During my time on City Council, I have been continually impressed by our residents’ great pride in Delaware and their support for important initiatives. I want to see this continue, and the seeds for progress planted so deterioration and complacency do not set in.

A yes vote is a positive step for current and future generations — and for our quality of life. We do not want to detour from this. Please vote yes for the transportation levy on Nov. 8.
