For years, Olentangy Orange senior Kristen Helmsdoerfer has gone to sleep at night dreaming about winning an Ohio High School State Golf Championship.

When she wakes up Friday morning, she’ll have a chance to turn her dream into a real-life experience few can say they’ve had.

After earning district medalist honors last week, Helmsdoerfer earned the right to compete in this weekend’s Division I girls’ state showcase. She’ll get started at 9:40 a.m. Friday morning from the first tee of the Ohio State University’s Grey Course — something she couldn’t be more excited about.... Cont'd
