Ohio Machine attackman Steele Stanwick was named the Warrior Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced today by Major League Lacrosse.

Stanwick earned the weekly honor following his eight-point performance in the Machine’s 17-16 victory over the Boston Cannons on Saturday.

“Steele had a tremendous game,” Machine vice president and head coach Bear Davis said. “When the game was on the line, Steele made the plays we needed to win the game. He was a threat to score, feed and dodge. He took his game to a new level this past weekend.”

Stanwick’s eight points tied a club record for points in a game. His performance was capped off in the final minutes when he collected a pass from Jimmy Bitter on the doorstep and beat Cannons’ goalie Adam Ghitelman to score the game winning goal.

On Saturday, Stanwick and the Machine return to Selby Stadium at 4 p.m. as the team hosts its first-ever playoff game at Selby Stadium.

Finishing the season with a 9-5 record, the Machine set club records for wins in a season. As the second overall seed in the 2015 MLL Playoffs, the Machine will host the No. 3 seed Rattlers, while the first overall seed New York Lizards host the fourth-seeded Cannons.

2015 marks the second consecutive season the Machine has made the post-season, and the second consecutive year the Machine and Rattlers will meet in the playoffs. Last season, the Machine fell to the top-seeded Rattlers in the semifinals. In 2015, the Machine and Rattlers split the season series, with each team winning on the road.

Tickets to the Machine’s playoff game are currently available and start at $12. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Machine ticket office at 614-754-1973 or by visiting www.theohiomachine.com.
