The Liberty and Olentangy baseball teams, which both wrapped up outright league titles earlier in the week, added to their already solid seasons with lopsided wins Wednesday afternoon.

The Patriots (21-3), who beat Thomas Worthington 2-1 in nine innings to wrap up their third straight Central Division crown Monday afternoon in Powell, cruised past the Cardinals 12-2 in the back end of the home-and-home series Wednesday in Worthington.

Spencer Yankle and Chase Gresock homered for Liberty, which trailed 2-0 before erupting for six runs in the top of the third. The Patriots added two more in the fourth, two in the sixth and two in the seventh to smooth out the scoring summary.

Gresock, Yankle and Mitchell Okuley each finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Ryan Hoffman also had two hits for Liberty.

Mitch Milheim picked up the win on the mound, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out three and walking three in five innings of work.

Hunter Voorhees pitched a pair of scoreless innings in relief.

The Braves (19-7), meanwhile, fresh off Tuesday’s 3-2 league-clinching win over host Hayes (6-15) — their second straight Capital Division championship — handled the Pacers 11-1 in five innings to wrap up league play Wednesday in Lewis Center.

Berto Carselle picked up the win, allowing just four hits in four scoreless innings of work. He struck out one and walked one.

Collin Hoffmann finished a perfect 3-for-3 to lead the Olentangy offense. He also scored two runs and drove in another.

Caden Kaiser also had a nice game, finishing 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored.

Mason W. Davis knocked in Hayes’ lone run while Ben Yoakum, Gabe Phillips, Noah Watts, Mason McGeath, Ryan Daughenbaugh and Connor King had hits.
