Golden Eagles secure hard-fought win over New Albany

Big Walnut earned a hard-fought OCC-Capital Division win over visiting New Albany Thursday, handling the Eagles 26-24, 25-14, 23-25, 25-19.

Jessica Ruffing led BW (4-2) with a team-best 15 kills while Tiffany Soisson finished with nine, Bryn Rammelsburg had seven and Machaela Podraza collected six in the win.

Delaware Christian 3, Gahanna Christian 0

DCS used a dominant 25-3 first-set win to set the tone, then added wins of 25-19 and 25-13 to roll past host Gahanna Christian Thursday night.

Erin McCullough led the Eagles (8-3) with 11 kills, 10 digs and three aces.

Brianna Blackburn was also solid, closing with a team-best 27 assists to go with six aces and four kills.

Olentangy 3, Worthington Kilbourne 1

The Braves picked up a four-set win over the Wolves Thursday, winning by scores of 25-20, 15-25, 25-15, 25-16.

Olentangy (5-3) was led by Emily and Olivia Margolies, who finished with a combined 26 kills. Lauren Judge was also solid, closing with seven kills, while Sophie Fritz finished with 35 assists and Zoe Miller collected a career-high 37 digs.

Liberty 3, Hilliard Davidson 0

The Patriots improved to 6-0 Thursday, handling host Hilliard Davidson 25-21, 25-19, 25-23.

Lauren Burke closed with 10 kills, Maddie Fogg finished with 36 assists and Lauren Nichols had 11 digs in the win.

Mount Vernon 3, Hayes 0

Julia Kaylor finished with a team-best nine kills and Audrey Hannahs led the defense with 12 digs, but it wasn’t enough as the Pacers fell to the host Yellow Jackets 18-25, 20-25, 15-25 Thursday in Mount Vernon.
