Buckeye Valley’s boys bowling team kept its undefeated streak alive, holding off host Jonathan Alder en route to a thrilling 2,197-2,187 win Thursday in Plain City.

“The boys are still perfect,” BV coach Madonna Wells said. “And when you can go to Plain City and beat Jonathan Alder at their house to say that … perfection sounds great.”

Leo Wells led the Barons with games of 237 and 211 (448 series). Other BV standouts included Jimmy Davis, who rolled games of 220 and 218; and Nick Cooper, who had games of 157 and 227. Tony Ruark (155), Spencer Milligan (146), Jacob Man (134) and Jacob Moeslein (116) also chipped in.

The girls, meanwhile, fell by a slim four-pin margin, 1,836-1,832, after rallying from 45 down heading into bakers.

Morgan Stuart sparked BV with games of 226 and 175. Carly Kelley (319 series) and Tara McClure (312 series) were also steady while Fiona Tseng (262 series) and Sydney Lenart (241 series) smoothed out the team’s scoring summary.

“These two matches had to be the best of the season, with a total of 14 pins between all four teams,” Wells said. “Everyday I talk about how important spares are … and tonight was all about it.”

Next up, the Barons head to Colony Lanes to take on Fairbanks Tuesday afternoon.
